As part of the continuous development of Urgent Care Services, the Primary Health Care Corporation’s (PHCC) Umm Salal Health Center has extended its Urgent Care Services to include a Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic, effective from Sunday 21st August 2022.

Umm Salal Health Center, one of 28 across the country, currently provides urgent care services for adults, and has now expanded its services to offer 24/7 Urgent Care Services for children and young people, up to the age of 18. Through this service, people with non-life-threatening medical needs will be able to obtain treatment, including but not limited to: severe minor illnesses such as high fever or vomiting, mild or moderate asthma, skin rashes, croup, umbilical discharge, or ear and eye complaints.

The 24-hour Pediatric Urgent Care Service is currently available at Muaither and Al Ruwais Health Centers and is led by a team of specialist doctors and nurses, and is supported by pharmacy and x-ray services. As a walk-in service, patients are offered the convenience of a fast and effective assessment, diagnosis, treatment and/or advice, ensuring the most appropriate level of intervention and quality patient care.

In this regard, PHCC explained that, “With an ever-increasing population, there is growing demand for high-quality Urgent Care Services, making it a vital component of our healthcare offering. We are confident that with the expansion of our urgent care to include pediatrics, we are able to increase access to high-quality urgent care for an even wider demographic group”.

“As part of our commitment to offer patients round-the-clock high-quality urgent healthcare that is easily accessible, quick, and efficient, other 24-hour Urgent Care Services are expected to go live in other health centers in the coming months,” added PHCC.

PHCC currently offers adult patients 24/7 Urgent Care Services for non-life-threatening medical needs, such as minor burns, mild to moderate dehydration, fever, severe dizziness,  mild shortness of breath, vomiting, animal bites, and acute skin infections, at 8 health centers. These are: Rawdat Al Khail, Al Rayyan, Al Kaaban, Al Sheehaniya, Al Ruwais, Muaither, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, and Um Salal Health Centers.
