Oral Health .. A Responsibility We Instill in the Next Generation

06 May 2025

As part of our continuous efforts to promote health awareness among school students—and stemming from the dedication of the dental team behind the "Asnani" School Oral Health Program—our team proudly participated in the "Career Day" event organized by Umm Salal Mohammed Primary School for Girls on Thursday, 01/05/2025. The participation included delivering an educational lecture titled: "Oral Health… Your Responsibility", which was attended by a group of students and school staff.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Suheir Daloul, the team dentist supervisor, covered several key themes. It highlighted the importance of daily oral hygiene practices, such as brushing teeth with toothpaste after every meal, and emphasized the need for regular dental check-ups to support prevention and early diagnosis. The students were also cautioned against taking any medication without a prescription and warned not to rely on the experiences or advice of others, as each individual’s health condition is different—and inappropriate use may lead to unwanted complications.

The session concluded with a strong educational message from the Asnani School Program team: "Consult your dentist… your health is a trust."

As the Manager of the Oral Health Promotion & Prevention Department, which oversees the Asnani School Program—and which, inshaaAllah, will achieve a significant reduction in dental caries rates among students in government primary schools and kindergartens across Qatar in the coming years—I, Dr. Najat Alyafei, would like to express my pride in the sincere and professional efforts of all the Asnani teams working with us. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to the program’s vision are deeply appreciated.

We remain committed, inshaaAllah, to delivering preventive and educational oral health messages to all segments of society. Oral health is not a luxury, but a shared responsibility, and we rely on the active contribution of parents, educators, and school administrators to spread awareness in simple yet impactful ways.
