For the Academic Year 2024/2025PHCC Health Centers To Commence New Students Check-ups In April

25 Mar 2024

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced the commencement of student check-up procedures as of April 1st, 2024, with a single visit only to the health centers. This comes in parallel with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s (MOEHE) announcement regarding the enrollment of new students in government schools for the academic year 2024/2025, facilitated through continuous coordination and collaboration with the MOEHE Schools and Students Affairs Department.

PHCC has emphasized the readiness of its all-health centers and has implemented all essential precautions to ensure the safety of students through the development of check-up mechanisms and procedures for students joining schools this year. PHCC taskforce has developed such mechanisms and procedures ensuring that the checkup is conducted in a single scheduled visit.

The check-up procedures are outlines as follows: first a parent should call the hotline (107) and select the option for medical check-ups for school students in order to book an appointment. The competent staff will then proceed to electronically schedule all required appointments for the student including both dental and family medicine clinics.

The second step is attending the booked appointment by both the student and parent at the registered health center, considering arriving one hour before the appointment and bringing the required documents (identity card, valid health card, birth certificate and vaccination card).

During the visit, a series of sequential procedures will take place: the check-in procedure at the reception, the nursing assessment, the conduct of necessary laboratory tests and social worker assessment. Then, attending the booked dental appointment for dental check-up followed by attending the booked appointment with the family physician for clinical examination, view of all test results and issuance of the health certificate electronically.

The parent then collects the student's e-file from the reception before leaving the health center to submit it to the relevant authorities.

It is worth noting that an electronic connection is established with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, allowing their access to the student’s medical check-up results electronically.

PHCC has affirmed that all of its health centers are ready to receive students and their parents, while ensuring a smooth process for all procedures.
