World Diabetes Day

14 Nov 2021

The World Diabetes Day is an awareness campaign of diabetes held on November 14 of each year. The innovation of this day was in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in response to the alarming rise in the rate of diabetes around the world. Every year the International Diabetes Federation is choosing a new theme for its campaign to address issues facing the global community of Diabetes. This day marks the birthday of Frederick Banting who cooperated with Charles Best to bring forth the idea that led to the discovery of insulin for the first time in 1922.
