The idea of a family day in Qatar has emerged on the sidelines of the World Family Conference, which organized by the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in 2004, on the tenth anniversary of the International Year of the Family, where Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser, President of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, at the conclusion of the Conference has urged to the need to celebrate the Family Day. The Council proposed April 15 from each year to celebrate this day.
