PHCC provides a comprehensive antenatal care package that is accessible and based on best standards of care.
Provide regular health monitoring in a structured antenatal care visit and early intervention as needed to maintain healthy pregnancy to achieve effective transition to a positive childbirth.
Provide antenatal care booking service once pregnancy is confirmed at the health center. It is advisable to have early booking assessment and best if done before 10 weeks gestational age. Booking assessment includes: review of medical, surgical, gynecological and previous obstetric history, request for standard screening investigation (laboratory & Ultrasound), prescription of supplements and other medication.
Pregnant women receive antenatal care at the health center until 34 weeks gestation then they're referred to secondary care to continue regular follow up until delivery. However, for specific risk conditions, early referral to secondary care can be done.
This service is available in all primary health care centers.
Qatari and Non-Qatari pregnant women residing in the country and who are registered at PHCC health center.
Service requirements: a valid health card
First appointment: self-referral by calling 107 or walk-in at health center.
Follow-up appointments: scheduling and rescheduling antenatal care appointments by calling 107 or by seeking the support of the receptionist in booking an appointment.
