The Baby-Friendly Initiative aims to ensure that PHCC is accredited by World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) as a Baby-Friendly facility by protecting, promoting and supporting exclusive breastfeeding for six months and continued breastfeeding up to 2 years of age or beyond. Breastfeeding counseling is provided across the antenatal and postnatal periods and at each well baby clinic visit to ensure appropriate nutrition for the baby and includes the management of common breastfeeding problems.
Antenatal and Postnatal women/mothers, children aged 0-2 or beyond as far as mother and child choose.
