On National Sport Day, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has spared no effort to support community activities and national initiatives with its notable participation with several ministries, institutions, schools, and universities in its various activities.
PHCC has participated with Ministry of Municipality in Umm Al Seneem Park, the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority at the authority’s headquarters, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau in The Pearl Island, Qatar University in their outdoor stadiums, and Al Gharafa Sports Club at the club’s headquarters, in addition to the main event PHCC has held in Lusail City on National Sport Day.
These partnerships have been a remarkable success with everyone participating to take their vital signs and measure their height and weight, as well tests related to participants’ BMI, diabetes, blood pressure, and a hemoglobin test.
PHCC’s awareness corners in the above-mentioned areas has also measured waist circumference, examined the family’s medical history and the daily activity rate, and directed those who have any health risks to follow-up and proper treatment. In addition to distributing leaflets covering all common diseases and how to prevent health risks, as periodic tests are particularly important for assessing the health condition of community members to diagnose early symptoms of the disease and prevent any potential risks.
It is worth noting that PHCC’s School Health Department also participated in the National Sport Day activities, given the importance of promoting the health of students, as well as children at 282 kindergartens.
