In recognition for the crucial role played by the various local media outlets in raising community’s health awareness through print, audio and visual media, and social media platforms, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) held an honoring ceremony last week at the Hilton Doha Hotel where English and Arabic media representatives were invited.
Mrs. Huda Mohsen Al Wahedi, Executive Director of Corporate Communications Department, presented the corporation’s appreciation certificates and the commemorative shields to the media representatives. She said, “this initiative comes under the guidance of Dr. Mariam Ali Abdul Malik, Managing Director of PHCC, in recognition of these media institutions, as we realize the importance of this partnership and the tremendous efforts made during the last period, especially during COVID-19 pandemic. We, in Qatar, were able to combat this pandemic through joint efforts with the least damage.”
There is no doubt that the media has become of great importance, especially to shed light on this pioneering role by spreading awareness; delivering precise and exact information to citizens, residents and visitors; contributing to assisting the concerned authorities in delivering fast and accurate news, including the country’s public health related news and warnings; and delivering health guidelines and other activities provided by PHCC that would highlight its great role in serving the community.
For her part, Moza Abdulaziz Al-Ishaq, Head of Media at PHCC’s Corporate Communications Department, said, “PHCC is grateful for your presence at this honorable ceremony and this wonderful forum, involving an elite group of media professionals who have made outstanding media contributions who left an effective imprint across all visual media with dedication and devotion.”
The continuous media coverage of all PHCC’s news, activities and events has wonderfully contributed to highlighting the role of the corporation, raising the level of health awareness among all segments of society.
Al-Ishaq further said that our distinguished media has never failed to highlight PHCC’s efforts and services through its medical, nursing, and administrative staff, to deliver health messages and news to the public, and to act as a link between PHCC and society with high professionalism and commitment to the country’s vision and strategies.
